Houndstooth is in vogue for fashion, interior design and beyond. These familiar black and white checks originated in the woven cloth of the Scottish Lowlands. The duotone textile pattern is characterized by broken checks or abstract four- pointed shapes. Traditional houndstooth is woven with alternating bands of four dark and four light threads in both warp and weft. In a simple twill, two over and two under the warp.
While exploring this traditional pattern we found contemporary solutions for our knits, using the houndstooth pattern in combination with waves or as a wave itself.
