Funky Cosmo
It’s Carrie Bradshaw’s go-to cocktail in one of the most famous tv-shows to ever run. It’s bright pink, a little sweet and sour and served in a glass for which you might need the balancing skills of an equilibrist.
The origin of the cocktail is debatable. A first similar resemblance to the ‘Cosmo’ we know today was printed in the 1934 book ‘Pioneers of Mixing at Elite Bars’, but of course, it was not until the airing of ‘Sex and the City’ that the Cosmopolitan really launched into the pop culture icon status.
In the late 90’s the protagonist women of the dramedy series
were often seen enjoying the drink. After the show, Cosmopolitan
became synonymous to a drink for the working girls. The budding
cocktail revolution made men ordering these iconic cocktails in
rocks glasses for fear of otherwise seeming too girly.
